look how terrible lulu looks when she takes a bath.
i'm so glad i know how to groom myself so i never have to bathe. when i was a baby, it was hard to groom. sometimes i would fall over, so mommy and daddy had to hold me up. but then i got the hang of it and now i'm a pro. here are some photos of me grooming as a baby. see how cute i am?
mommy says my legs and feets and toes were ginormous even when i was little. what does she expect? hrumph. i'm a bunny.
when i first started binkying, i would sometimes binky right into my litter box! daddy took these photos of me during my first week at home. mommy was at work so she didn't see me do all these silly things but daddy was home because he was working the late shift. i tried to stay extra still so he could get a good photo to show mommy. later, mommy said that the second image is her favourite photo of me... ever!!
later that week, i decided to play in my litter box again. but that was one of the last times because even with daddy's help, it took forever to groom me clean after this:
hello (internet) world! my name is truffle and i am a much loved blue netherland dwarf boy. mommy and daddy think i am the cutest thing ever and they still talk to me like i'm a baby even though i'm nearly 6 months old!
mommy likes to put dates in a funny contraption that she doesn't let me bite. she guesstimates that i was born on september 15, 2010. that means i was around 6-and-a-half weeks old when she and daddy brought me home. since then, i've noticed that mommy blogs a lot so that's where i got the idea to start a blog too. for my first post, i thought i would tell you a little bit about how i came to live with my mommy and daddy.
on october 30, mommy saw my little pink nose set against my pretty blue-grey fur and fell in love with me... at first sight! she made her friend, auntie tracy, stay at the pet store with her for over an hour while she decided whether to adopt me. i was super excited but i had a little scare when a funny smelling lady came up to us and said she was tempted to bring me home too. but then that yucky lady said she hated rabbits. imagine that!
eventually mommy decided that i was the one for her. she didn't even consult with daddy! i wanted to go right then and there but the pet store people said i was too young so they made her leave and come back the next day. so on halloween, she brought daddy to see me almost right when the store opened just like she said she would. i didn't like it when the shop lady picked me up but she gave me kisses so i guess she was alright. then i was stuffed into a cardboard box - it was dark and i was so scared that i didn't even bite it.
then mommy cooed to me in a soft voice, which made me relax a little. a short while later, after riding in a stinky thing called a taxi, i was in my new home. mommy and daddy built my cage and boy did they make a racket! when they were finally done, mommy went to wash my food bowls and told daddy to leave me alone for a little while. instead, daddy opened the box and pet me. it felt so good... super relaxing! i was so curious but i tried not to move because i didn't want him to stop petting me. then mommy came over and pet me too. eventually, i started looking around because i was so curious about what was outside the cardboard box.
mommy went to get me some water and told daddy to try to put me in the cage without lifting me up. as soon as mommy left the room, daddy picked me up and held me against his chest. it made me nervous not to have my feet on the ground but daddy held me tightly enough so i wasn't that afraid. mommy came back and let out a shriek. she came to pet me and then went to get a big black thing that made all these clicking sounds.
daddy lay down on the bed and let me sit on his chest. i think i must have spent at least a few hours sitting on him. he fell asleep and mommy went all around me with the clicking black box. later i learned that she was taking photos of me and that the black thing tastes good but she doesn't really like it when i try to chew on it. i slept a little too and then i was hungry so i ate some of the pellets that mommy put on daddy's shirt right below my chinny chin chin. i also drank some water. that was when i knew that i would love my new home.
